The Lucie Foundation is pleased to announce the Open Call for photographers to submit their images to be exhibited at the House of Lucie gallery in Downtown Los Angeles. All levels of photographers are welcome to submit their work to be part of this exhibition.


Theme for this exhibition is: ON THE BLOCK, images from the street


Recipients of the 2019 Fall Group Show will have their work featured in an exhibition at House of Lucie Los Angeles the month of October 2019 and their work promoted throughout our media channels and online.

Who Can Apply:

Anyone can apply worldwide. All mediums of photography are acceptable. Photographer must have high-definition file of image ready to send should your work be chosen for the exhibition. Chosen photographs will be digitally printed by the Foundation for the exhibition. Photographer will be able to submit up to 5 images of their work for $20.

All submissions must be within the theme: ON THE BLOCK, images from the street

Those images submitted that do not fall within the theme will not be considered.

Deadline for submissions: Friday, August 30, 2019

Use & Ownership:

The photographer must be the sole author and owner of the copyright of photos entered in to the competition. Copyright and all other rights remain that of the photographer. Any photograph used by Lucie Foundation shall carry the photographer’s credit line and will not be used for any other purposes other than the exhibition and promotional material for the exhibition including online and through social media and email newsletters. Images may be displayed on the Lucie Foundation website for promotion of the exhibition.


Is there a limit to the number of images each artist may submit?

Yes, you may submit up to 5 images.

What images should I submit?

Submit the best images you feel represent the theme ON THE BLOCK.

How should I prepare my files?

Please prepare your files according to the specifications below.

  • JPG only (NO TIF, GIF, PNG, PDF files will be accepted.)
  • 72 DPI
  • No file should exceed 2mb

Can I send print materials, books or CD’s?

No, Lucie Foundation accepts online submissions only.

When will the finalists be announced? 

Finalists will be announced by email mid September.

How will I know if I was selected? 

If you were selected for the group show, you will be contacted directly through the email which you provided in the submission form. The finalists will also be announced via the Lucie Foundation newsletter, website, and social media. Unfortunately, due to the volume of submissions, we are not able to notify if you were not selected.

Will there be an opening reception?

Yes, there will be an opening reception at the House of Lucie Los Angeles gallery. Details to follow.
