Laura, mother of Andres and Maria goes every 2 or 3 days to the irrigation canal to wash their clothes and themselves. They wash themselves with laundry detergent because it costs less. Laura sais she has been doing this since she was a girl, with her mother. The canal comes from the Santiago River, a river where international and national companies throw their waste in to their waters.
