Mr. Juan is from Santa Cararina. On his way to town to buy some diesel for his lamp he passes by an irrigation channel where the land owners and tobacco producers throw their empty chemical and fertilizer cans. “Every time I pass by, my mouth gets dry, the smell is very strong, it smells like rotten, like some one died but even with that, thats the water that we use for bathing ourselves, We dont like it but we have no other option” he says.
