On the heels of another successful Month of Photography Los Angeles, youth between the ages of 13 and 18 gathered for four consecutive Saturdays in May to particpate in SNAPSHOP! This program is designed to provide mentoring and instruction to under-served youth who show a serious interest and talent in photography. Five distinct courses are offered, and the end result of the work created is exhibited in a traditional gallery setting this summer. Instruction ranged from Low-Fi/ Analog classes to Fashion,Portraiture, Storytelling and Conceptual photography. Thank you to our instructors for being incredible mentors and educators for our youth and future photographers. The 2012 Instructors were Amanda Shank (Low-Fi/Analog), Astor Morgan (Low-Fi/Analog), Suné Woods (As I See It), Crystal Am Nelson (Conceptual Photography:The Narrative Portrait), Tiffany Roohani (Music Portraiture) and Daryl Henderson (Fashion). See some of our student work below.
