We are thrilled to announce this year's recipient of the Emerging Scholarship Grant - Tommaso Barsali of Italy. He will receive $2500.00 to further explore a documentary project about Franco Bellucci entitled Hulks' Toys.
Hulk's Toys examines the toys and works of art created by Franco Bellucci, a lifelong health facility resident, whose creations have served as a kind of therapy. Barsali will continue to work with Belucci and those closest to him – his family, health facility staff, and the psychiatrist who first gave Belucci agency to create. Barsali's honest and beautiful images, color and black and white, chronicle a man and his creations.
