The Lucie Foundation offers a variety of programs to support our three-tiered mission:

The Lucie Awards
The Lucie Awards is the annual gala ceremony honoring the greatest achievements in photography. The photography community from countries around the globe will pay tribute to the most outstanding photography achievements presented at the Gala Awards ceremony. Each year, the Advisory Board nominates deserving individuals across a variety of categories who will be honored during the Lucie Awards ceremony. Once the nominations have been received, the votes are tallied and an honoree in each category is identified. The honorees are pre-announced months before the Lucie Awards. The Lucies also recognize those integral in crafting an image through Six Support Category Awards. Our sister effort - The International Photography Awards also presents the top three winners of the annual competition with cash prizes and Lucies. 2011 marks the ninth year of the Lucies and the gala takes place at the world's leading performing arts center, Lincoln Center, New York. The Lucie Mentor PrograM - E-pprentice, an online mentor program.
The Lucie Mentor Program will match vital and current professional photographers with students and emerging talent who will become Photographys' next round of brightest stars. E-pprentice is the Lucie Foundation's online mentor program and electronic apprenticeship. It's a free program that is open to the public. Mentees are selected through an online submission process. By utilizing the internet as the platform for connecting individuals worldwide, E-pprentice allows for a dynamic, web-based exchange guided by a suggested curriculum and lasting a duration of six months. This modern mentorship utilizes instant messaging and video chat program to allow critique and discussions to occur. At the end of the exchange, it is our intention for the mentee to create new work guided by the advice of a succesful and seasoned professional, and to also gain invaluable, insightful, long-term guidance and support that will be useful in enhancing their photographic careers.
